Tiffany the $10 Sofa~Slipcover Revival

Tiffany before her slipcover
This is the story of a forgotten 1980's blue and pink sofa named Tiffany. Tiffany was taken to an auction by her family because they were tired of her. The family thought her best years were behind her. After all the mother said, "who wants a pink and blue formal sofa these days, they are sooo last 2 decades". Tiffany did not think this was true! She was sure her family was mistaken, what of her fine shapely frame and beautiful claw feet? Surely there would be many buyers at the auction that would clamor for her favor.
The auction seemed to Tiffany as if it would go on forever. Finally, nearing the end of the night it was her turn in the spotlight. As the men carried her onto the stage Tiffany felt proud. She just knew her family would be sorrowful when they saw what a desirable piece of furniture she was. To her extreme shock and horror Tiffany only brought $10 at the auction that night. Oh how she feared what would become of her!
When she arrived at her new home she braced herself. Could things get any worse! This new home had 4 children, 2 cats and a dog. How could a sofa like herself ever survive?! Tiffany had a hard time resting that night. Oh how she missed her elderly family and formal living room.
As time went by Tiffany adjusted to her new life. She found that she enjoyed the hustle and bustle of this large family. Tiffany was surprised to find that she also liked to be used, it gave her a sense of fulfillment. However, there was still one longing in Tiffanys' spring heart. She wished to be admired again as she was when she was new. Yes,she was happy in the playroom of this comfortable home, but, how she longed to be in the front room being admired by visitors!
Then one day something different happened, Fran a friend of the Mom came to visit. She made Tiffany feel most uncomfortable as she measured poked and prodded. She heard the Mom talk about moving her and hoped this was not the end of her happy home. Mom seemed excited as she spoke of her ideas with Fran. She said she really needed a sofa she could clean easily, that way she would not have to worry when the kids and pets sat on it. When Tiffany heard that she knew she was done for!

A few days later Fran came back to see Tiffany. At first Tiffany was worried, what was this lady going to do with her. Fran and Mom both seemed excited about the fabric Fran was carrying. Then, before Tiffany even knew what was happening she was slipcovered. Oh how Mom and Fran admired her. Mom gushed about how easy it would be to take care of her now (she was covered in outdoor fabric you know) and how wonderful it was to have a white sofa (remember Mom has 4 kids and 3 pets). Then the very best thing happened, Tiffany was moved to the family room. That's right, every visitor to her home would see her now. So once again Tiffany was admired, but this time she was also useful. Tiffany is still being used and admired today in her wonderful slipcover and she could'nt be happier!
