My Tribute to the Pantone Color of the Year~ Pink Vanity

I have been waiting for the perfect piece to try out the new "color  of the year"! I think this sweet antique vanity wears it perfectly! Pantone named Honeysuckle as the color of the year for 2011, they say it is " a color for everyday with nothing everyday about it".
I picked up this vanity at my local antique auction. The inside of the mirror was dated 1930. I loved the original hardware, such attention to detail.
We have had a couple of nice, warm, spring teaser days here. Even though I am trying to break my spray paint addiction, I couldn't resist the idea of a quick makeover. The vanity was sanded and ready to go so  I primed with brown Rustoleum primer and then painted using Rustoleum Painters Touch Spray paint in "Berry". The hardware also got a makeover with some satin nickel spray and a light misting of black to "antique" them a bit. I glazed her with my black glaze and again with metallic silver glaze. A nice coat of rub on poly and she is ready to go!

Ok, I love the Honeysuckle on this vanity - Dar-LING! But as the 'color of the year'? I can't see it yet. Oooh, the black glaze was genius. I'd never have thought of it. Great!
