I think I have painted more pieces black in the last two months than I have the history of my furniture painting. Maybe it's the time of year, I don't know. It seems that every other piece I do is just begging for an elegant coat of black. This Queen Anne buffet was one of my favorites. She started off in a cracking, drippy, brownish green paint. Sorry, no before pics. Some of the original hardware was missing so I replaced them with large glass knobs from Hobby Lobby. She truly is an elegant lady!
Today I wanted to share two pink vanity makeovers I have recently completed. I love pink, it is so girly and feminine. The perfect color for a vanity. Both of these pieces were finished with the same shade of pink. The first one is distressed and the dressing table is distressed and glazed. Which is your favorite? Distressed ~
I am in love with this gorgeous shade of blue. I call it Peacock Blue, it is actually Cathedral by Behr. This piece is a a true antique. I have to admit I felt a bit guilty putting the paint on. Here is the before picture~
There was quite a bit of damage to the finish as well as some pretty serious scratches on the top. The beautiful original hardware stole my heart, even the keyhole covers and castors. Nothing missing! That is a rare find on its own. I wanted a simple finish to showcase all of that hardware. I sanded, primed and painted with Behr "Cathedral", the perfect peacock blue, and finished with a coat of Lacquer. After some light distressing and some pretty fabric to line the drawers her she is~
