Chalk Paint Dresser

I have finally decided to try Annie Sloan Chalk Paint and I must say I really like it. I picked up this sweet antique dresser at the antique mall where I rent space. I loved all of the raised details and thought it would be perfect for what I think of as a classic chalk paint look. The colors are Louis Blue and Old White. I sanded the top down and lightly scuffed the rest of the dresser. The blue covered very well in 2 coats. I am still a little iffy about using the wax. I have concerns about the long term durability with a waxed piece. I would love to hear any insight y'all might have in this subject. The top was stained in dark walnut. I love the finished product!

oooh chrissie it looks gorgeous! i think the wax is durable- i think if it is buffed it is more durable. i also think that if you are able to if you are having personal interaction with clients you can let them know they may want to rewax it every year or so.... just to keep up that protection. when i was doing more business just on my own and not in a shop i used to recommend that to people.

Such a pretty color combination that's perfect for the details on this piece! I'm a fan of waxing and so far I'm not had any issues with durability.

She's a beaut! I just recently jumped on the AS bandwagon as well. Have yet to spend the $ on a quart though. I used my samples. I reluctantly loved it though :(

It's so beautiful. Very nice choice of colours, and very well done.

I love the Louis Blue/Old White color combo! I've also found the wax to be very durable. I may rewax after a while if it's a piece that gets tons of wear, but usually something like a dresser really wouldn't have much wear except the top and the pulls anyway.

This is gorgeous. Clicked over from Elisabth & Co's feature. Now following, too. I am just getting into re-painting/transforming furniture. Starting out with small stuff and working my way up.
